What Harborview needs

Harborview’s elementary division wants its year of one-day trips prepared at once, with one page per trip, so that every trip reads the same way.

The lower school’s year of day trips sits in the same Travel Year Guide as the international trips, so leadership sees the whole program in one place.

What Harborview receives

Harborview International School · Elementary Field Trips, Singapore

What in the example is real. The venues, addresses and emergency departments are real, and each drive is measured on real roads; the dates, class sizes and staff are illustrative.

Firholm School · Lower School Field Trips, Seattle

Firholm School in Seattle has the same product, in US Letter (Firholm’s paper) and A4.

How it works

  1. 1. What Harborview sends, by email

    • Each grade team’s venues for its units of inquiry
    • Class sizes and the adults going on each trip
    • The school calendar, with its term dates and holidays
  2. 2. What ETI360 does

    • Enters each trip: grade, unit of inquiry, date, schedule and each stop.
    • Measures the drive by road from each stop to Singapore’s public emergency departments.
    • Writes each trip page, a calendar for each month and the year at a glance.
  3. 3. What Harborview decides

    • Each trip and its risk assessment: the school reviews, completes, amends as necessary, and approves them.
    • Which emergency department each group uses.
ETI360’s 3-Tier Risk Framework
  • Tier 1 Organizational Readiness: The school-wide review of travel policies and procedures, prepared for leadership review.
  • Tier 2 Trip Readiness: Each trip’s documents, prepared for review before departure.
  • Tier 3 Live Trip Support and Review: Field and emergency information for trip leaders while the group is away, and the report after the trip.
